Worle's Listed Buildings

Magnolia and Oak Lee Cottages   BS22 6UB

Grade 2 listed.

Date first listed: 2nd July 1976.  UID 33196.

16th and 17th century rendered cob, thatched roof.  Modern windows throughout; upper floor windows under the thatch 'eyebrow'.  Later gabled porch and extensions to rear.  Walls 2 ft thick.  Ebdon Road.

Listed as The Bell House, originally Mendip View and is now Foxglove Cottage  BS22 6QP

Grade 2* Listed

Cruck construction.  Thought to be late mediaeval, much altered in the middle to late 17th century.  Top of The Scaurs facing west along Church Road.

Mendip Cottage, attached to The Bell House  BS22 6QP

Grade 2 listed.

Right of The Bell House.    17th Century, rendered, slate roof.  Two storeys, three windows, one original mullion, others are modern casements.  Chamfered and stopped beams.  Winder staircase.

Sunnyside House, now 119 and 121 Church Road  BS22 9EL

Grade 2 listed

Built c 1805.  Listed 19th May 1983 UID 33194.  Ground floor cast iron veranda.  Original door with fanlight.  Attached to west end is small ashlar porch with arch headed door and windows. Elaborate cast iron and glass conservatory.

St Martin's Church  BS22 9JN

Grade 2* Listed

12th century Norman architecture.  Inner porch on south side of Church is original.  Listed on 19th May 1983.  UID number 33193

Worle War Memorial Clock Tower

Grade 2 Listed

Listed on 6th June, 2017.  Situated in Worle High Street adjacent to the Health Centre.  Photographed from the upper window of Skidmore's shop.  Listing number is 1446117,.  Keys available from Skidmores.  An information board was installed by Worle History Society in 2018 to mark the centenary of the armistice. The memorial was dedicated in 1922.

        Worle Tower Observatory               BS22 9TP

Grade 2 listed

Originally the village windmill, it was constructed in 1764 to replace the wooden mill, which burnt down.  Situated on Worlebury Hill Road, and accessed by car, or walk up Stony Lane from Kewstoke Road. Date listed: 19th May 1983.  UID Number 33264
