Worle Station

Weston Loop onened 1884. The Station was accessed via Moor Lane. 

The remaining buildings were taken away for later stages of the  Mead Vale development,  they stones were taken to be used at Blagdon Station. 

Weston Clevedon & Portishead Railway

 

The Weston Clevedon & Portishead Railway opened 1897 and closed in 1940. 

In 1913 it was known as Worle (Moor Lane) and from 1917 it was called Worle Town Station. 

 

Bristol Road Holt opened in 1912 and a shelter built in 1938.

 

The last train ran on 18th May 1940 and the tracks removed in October 1942 through to 1943. 

 

In the 1950s attempts were made to re-open part of the line as a tourist attraction. 

 

You can now walk or cycle some of the way along the former route as part of the Pier to Pier route.

2016 - Unveiling of the Imformation Boards in Worle by Richard Wyatt former TV News Reader. 

The Boards were jointly funded by WC & P Railway Group and Worle History Society. The one above is just off of Station Road along the former line.
