Mother's Union
Mother's Union - Photo outside the Village Hall, Hill Road East (1955).
1927 - Rev Frederick May organised a committee to help set up a village hall. They bought the site and built the hall; it was up and running by 1934.
It was a hub for the local Community. It held events like jumble sales, dancing, weddings, Sunday School meetings and was used for many years as a school dinner hall.
It was later sold and became The Village Surgary and then a Children's Nursery
The Hardwick Family
The family donated the land for Worle Village Club (Century Club).
James Hardwick set up a charity in 1906 - its objective was Bread to be distributed on St Thomas Day for the poor of Worle.
The charity provided Tea, Bread, Blankets and Warm Clothing to the poor of Worle
