Remembrance Sunday

Worle village gathered at the War Memorial on Sunday 14th November, 2010

Above: Some words of blessing from the clergy.
Below: The poppy wreaths made by the children of Mendip Green School and laid on November 11th at 11.00 a.m. Sadly, the wet weather caused them to flop before this picture was taken on Sunday but the loving care remains intact.
A couple lay their tribute - and Pete adds his own to the unknown soldier

Worle Village Summer Walks in July and August
Our season of village walks 2010 is at an end. It has been most enjoyable, as you can see from the photographs. August's evening walk with Chris Richards was definitely the zenith. Remarkably, we had 50 walkers and several people emerged from their homes to ask what was happening. Hopefully, we have made some new friends who will come along to our meetings.

We covered everything from the churchyard to the observatory. Thank you Chris. 3 Pictures below

Meeting outside the south door of St. Martin's Church, Worle
The first two walks met outside the War Memorial at 2.30 p.m., armed with cameras and notebooks. We strolled gently around exploring and recording odd corners of Worle for our ‘Worle in 2010’ Scrapbook. Several walkers brought old photos, so that we were able to record the same scene in modern times.
