bring along their memorabilia as well as their memories.

January 6th An AFTERNOON MEMBERS' MEETING for Twelfth Night.
2.00 p.m. until 4.00 p.m. You are invited to bring along your
precious photos, documents and artefacts for us all to share and
admire. We shall also have a look at ideas for the layout and content
of the 2010 Scrapbook and there will be a chance to see photographs
which record our doings in the past year.
We thought that, after last winter's snow, it would be good to have
an early meeting for mid winter this year.
February 3rd Back to our normal time, 7.00 p.m.
David Hart [below left] is going to talk to us about Worle's Lanes
and Byways, which he has been researching for some time. I'm sure
maps and pictures will feature. This should be fascinating and with
luck we can persuade David to lead a couple of walks this summer

March 3rd An evening in 1940s Worle, with music and food from the era of
rationing. There will be pictures and information based on Raye
Green's research into World War 11 in the village. With luck
Nadine Kilvington will be cooking the austerity food - just a tasting,
not a supper! We shall be trying to identify all our ARP wardens, so come prepared
to help.
April 7th Schools evening. Three ex-headmasters of our local schools have
been invited to join us for a Question Time session on the theme of
Education in Worle, Past and not quite Present. Hopefully we shall
be able to overcome their natural diffidence and name names
shortly. Any of our members who have retired from teaching in the
locality, beware - you may be co-opted.
We shall also be displaying our collection of photographs and
memorabilia from school days past. Gifts of apples for the teachers
will be gratefully received.
May 5th Quiz Evening is upon us again and I am hoping someone else will
volunteer to be Quiz Master this year - it is exhausting! Prizes will
be discussed nearer the time, but will be imaginative and
inexpensive. Ideas for themes for 5 rounds of questions would be
very welcome. Of course, there will be a picture round, so bring
your specs.
June 2nd This evening we welcome Sharon Poole as our guest speaker. You
will all be aware of the books of photographs that Sharon has
published on Weston and its environs. Tonight, Sharon
has agreed to speak about the Weston, Clevedon and Portishead
Light Railway.
July 7th Calendar night is here. Please bring your wonderful photos for
consideration. We are desperate to keep up the standard set last
year for 2011. Ideas for design always helpful.
August 4th Annual Evening Walk. 6.30 p.m. from St. Martin's unless we change
this later. I'm working on ideas for an expert leader.
Speakers and activities will be added as they are confirmed.
